DYNAMAT Question?

I need some help with dynamat please!

#1 What should I use on the doors? I was thinking of extreme.

#2 What is the best price on this stuff? The best price I've seen was on Ebay $115 for 36 sq ft of Extreme. Do you know a better price somewhere?

#3 Are there any links to install tips here in the forum? I've never done this before.

Thanks in advance!

Ok....I've done some homework here!

It's seems that a huge manufacturing company (McMaster) makes all the sound deadening material for all kinds of applications.
They, in fact, make the material for DYNAMAT which (I've read) just put their name on it.

Here is a link to part of the story on an audio forum I found:
http://www.caraudioforum.com/vbb2/sh...light=mcmaster

The website for this stuff is :
www.mcmaster.com

Type in : ACCOUSTICAL DAMPING SHEETS in the search window.

If you want the regular "dynamat" its part # 9709T18
The better stuff or "dynamat super/premium" is under the same area and is called VISCOELASTIC.

Either way you go....its way less expensive than Dynamat, but does exactly the same thing.

Hope this helps!

email Rick at raam@raamaudio.com. Tell him Gary from RI sent you. He has the Raammat mastic. If you are concerned about the adhesive this stuff is the best on the market. Plus it has the aluminum backing. Just buy one roll. Make sure you have a razor knife, and some gasoline and a rag. As the mastic builds on the razor, wipe it clean with the gas.

Also, then go to www.800nonoise.com and check out the embossed acoustic foam. No aadhesive backing. Put this stuff in the plastic door panel. You will see a big difference.

email me at ghaizlip@hotmail.com if you need detailed instructions.

Glade,
I used the McMaster visco. product on the doors of my 2001 L. and have had no regrets.
It was very easy to work with. I traced the outline of the factory
dampening onto the new, then cut it out with scissors and placed onto the doors.
Finished.
