Can I splice door speakers??

Wanting to replace my stock door speakers in my '10 Screw with some 3ways and when I do I want to install some tweeters in the doors while I have them off. I should just be able to splice into the speaker wire for the tweeters correct??
Plan on putting in subs on down the road and when I do this I will have amps/crossovers to handle the power...BTW I'm going to keep my stock headunit, is there anything that I need to buy to put all this in the back of it??

Not sure if I understand what your asking, but....if you're installing 3-ways in the door, the tweeter is part of that, correct? If so then there should be a crossover used and the factory speaker wire will be wired to the crossover then the tweeter and mid(s) would be wired off that. Again this is assuming you are using components and not tri-axles.
If no crossover is used then how are you going to dedicate only highs to the tweeters?

You should either run all new speaker wire, or buy some adapters instead of cutting what you don't need to cut. They're super cheap and plug and play. Once you have the adapters installed, like RI-Matt said you will then have a wired output to go the crossover.

Something like this. Check to make sure they fit your vehicle though.
