Stock Sony speakers
Stock Sony speakers
I have an XLT with sync system. My question if i replace my door speakers with stock Sony speakers will it be worth it? Since the Sony is a 5.1 system are these speakers the same as my stock. IE: 2-way or 3-way?
Are you wanting to replace the stock speakers with some aftermarket sony speakers or are you wanting to replace your stock speakers with stock sony speakers?
I'm sorry jcaru, I have not heard the stock Sony system in the F150's. I will not be able to comment on this one, however, I have heard some aftermarket Pioneer 3ways with the stock stereo and it made a noticable difference.
I'm wondering the same thing. I have an 06 XLT and the sound is really weak. I'm not looking for anything spectacular, but I just want decent sound quality and I don't want to make too many modifications to get there.
I'd like to just put in new 6x8's without having to add an amp. But with the way things sound now, I have doubts about the stock head units power output.
Has anyone heard a stock system with just upgraded speakers? Is it worth $200 in extra speakers?

When using the stock radio to power aftermarket speakers, you want to look for speakers with a low RMS rating and a high sensitivity rating.

I put some of those in my buddies F250 and they sound good off of his stock radio.
If you want to add bass to the system without shaking the mirrors I recommend this

It's easy to install if you can do some simple wiring, comes with everything you need, and it fits under the seat. It will add that bass that the door speakers can't provide and it won't rattle your interior apart.
