Amplified Thunderforms?
Which thunderform are you looking at? 100w is maybe enough for one sub, but if something goes wrong, you have to ship the whole thing back for warranty. I've got the thunderform for the reg cab w/2 10' MTX6000s, and I don't think a 100w amp is enough to drive them...not even close. JMHO
thunderforms
theres no way that 100w rms can power two thunder6000. each sub at 4ohms will handle from 75-250 rms. if both get 100w that means they share hence 50w a sub. i have the thunder 5000 basically last years model of the 6000 and im giving them 200wrms each sub and i still think they can take more
im looking at the thunderform for a standard cab f150
with 2 10 inch 6000s. on the bottom of the page it says
loaded thunderforms come with a built in 100 watt amp.
i dont think its enough to run to run 2 10s either.
maybe its 200w for the boxes with 2 subs but it dont
say that anywhere.
Anyway how do u guys like box with the 6000s are they any good?

trashguy,
I think the thunderforms look great and sound good unless you are building a high-end or competition system. I'm running mine off a cheap 800w/4ohm amp, and they sound great up to a point-- a point that most people would be completely satisfied. I think if I had it to do again, I would go with a custom box with two 12" subs. This is my first system with 10s, (I prefer to use 12s or 15s), so maybe I'm expecting too much. Anyway, IMHO, you need at least 300w-400w to drive them good, and rattle your spinal cord.

Yes, it is 100w amp. No it's not an 8ohm, or even a 4ohm load. It's a 0.7ohm load. Go read the specs. 100w is plenty, provided the amp is good. Example: A 50w MTX amp will sound cleaner, hit harder, and play way louder than a 300w Jensen amp. Doesn't sound right, but ask any professional audio specialist. I've learned to judge the amps by their cost. The competition is so fierce, no one is going to charge anymore than they have to. So an expensive amp (for the most part) is going to be expensive because it has high quality parts.
By the by, I have the thunderform with the two 8's in it. I don't have the self amplified, but I was tempted to get it because I knew it would sound great. I already had a couple amps from my previous vehicle and decided to save a couple hundred bucks. I can say this for the thunderforms: They hit pretty nice! I'd like to get an EQ so I can tune it a little better. They respond to certain frequencies a little too much. But, the box fit well under my rear seat, leaving some room for my amp to stay hidden under there too.

Here's the actual blurb from Crutchfield on the Thunderform (Amplified verwsion)
This Amplified ThunderForm comes ready to install in your 1997-2001 Ford F-150 Supercab truck, with 2 rugged 8" subwoofers and a super-efficient 100-watt amplifier already built in — so you don't have to find a spot to mount a separate amp. (The subwoofer, specially designed for the amplified ThunderForm, presents a 0.7 ohm load to the Class D 100 watt amplifier — they're made for each other!) Speaker- and line-level audio inputs means you can integrate them into any system. They also have simple connections for 12-volt power, ground, and signal wires. 1-year limited warranty.
