Quick Question for sub box
Quick Question for sub box
Hi all.
I have an '07 crewcab and i want a single or better yet a dual 12 stealth box (under rear seat) BUT I cannot lift the seat. Having a baby and will have a car seat in there, with a short wife. Are there any available? I cannot afford the super duper skinny subs either. I want really good bass out of the system. Im running an alpine MRP-M350.
Thanks everyone.
ps. I have been trolling around for two weeks reading and searching. I know about the major three sub boxes, atrend, supercrew and fox. I couldnt find one that doesnt need a seat lift.

Your not gonna be able to fit a fullsize 12 in there without a seat lift and still probably not be able to get it to the right sealed specs without it hanging out the front. I seen some shallow mount rockford 10's but out decent bass, but as the saying goes you pay for what you get.
To get 12s you are looking at slims and most slims just don't stack up to normal 12s.
Unless, you find a pair of SI BM MKIIIs used (now very rare), wait for the new SI BM MKIV (months away), or get the new Alpine Type R slims.
I have the MKIIIs and they are really really good. Lots of people are also starting to get on the Alpine R Slims. Suppose to be very good also.
They take lots of power and get deep and loud.
You will have to have the box built or build yourself. Not difficult to do being sealed but for your year model a few extra cuts will have to be made.

Tough call. It really depends on what you kind of output you are looking for.
One 10 is perfectly fine, of course two would be louder. The big thing that is limiting your selection is the mounting depth.
With you current amp I would stick with a single 10. That amp just does not have the power for 2.
I would look at an Image Dynamics ID10 4ohm or one of the Dayton Audio 10s 4ohm.
You will want either a dual voice coil 4ohm or single voice coil 2ohm.
The final load on the amp should be 2ohm to maximize the amps power.

I have two of the dayton audio 10s Langlowe suggested in a custom ported box I built getting 1000W total. I would recommend this setup to anyone that can build a box. They would also work fine sealed in the supercrewsound box, but with that amp you would only want a single 10.

Which one are we talking about now?
Also, I have NO idea how to wire my amp for 2 ohm or 4??

I would be buying a supercre 10" box and adding the sub. Check the above link and let me know what your choice would be as well.
I am not sure if this is a dual or single voice coil. If single then it will be 4ohm and you amp might not be enough. Mono D class amps are cheap though.

If a dual voice coil here is how to wire for a 2ohm load.

Well I found a daytona 10" on bay for 85 shipped. Sooo, should I buy another one and run dual 10's? Would this give me more/louder bass. I like my bass to hit HARD!
What amp should I use to power two?
Would my current alpine MRP-350 be sufficient If I ran only one?
I will soon be purchasing the supercrew sub box and want to know If I should go for the dual or single.
Thanks again guys
