Kappas off of head unit?
Kappas off of head unit?
I am getting ready to buy a Pioneer p3300BT and some new speakers all the way around.
It looks like infinity kappas are highly recommened. I realize they are 2 ohm, but according to the Crutchfield product video its still ok to use on head unit (albeit they will use more power).
Is this correct, or will I run into issues with over working the internal amp of the head unit?
I would do these for the back http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-6829C...=10T5P4S48ETP7 and possibly these for the front http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-6809C...0070687&sr=8-1
I cant decide if i should go 682.9 all the way around (since the tweeter can be aimed) or if I should go with 680.9 up front and 682.9 in the back. The advantage is the seperate tweeter on the 680.9 but I have read they are huge..and I cant find any real measurements on them.

Spend $80 on a decent 4 channel amp and you'll thank yourself later. Go buy yourself some 4 or even 8 gauge wire ($15 on ebay for 25ft), a set of RCAs ($5), Accessory wire and 14-16 gauge speaker wire ($10 total) and a fuse kit and install it yourself. For right around $100 you'll have the sonic delight you're hoping for.

In my last truck I had an Alpine HU with an internal 100W amp (25X4) driving Alpine Type R components and 5X7's in the back (also an Audiobahn 400W amp driving two 10" subs). With some tuning (cut everything below 150Hz to door speakers) it sounded pretty good, but I was *never* really satisfied with it and intend to not make that mistake with my new truck (going 1000W straight out of the gate). Just my $0.02, FYI.
