Hey you guys,

I have a 1997 F150 Scab with 6x8 Kicker KS680's in all 4 doors. Ive had these speakers for a month and a half. Ive made sure i havent blasted the music or anything like that because i wanted to break them in. My speaker in my driver door is blown and the one in the back passenger side door's tweeter went out. Does anyone have good 6x8s in their truck? If you do let me know what kind they are. Im so disappointed with these, im not gunna send them back to get new ones. Thanks you guys!

IMO best speakers for the money on the market

 

I was recently seriously digging/hunting for 5x7 / 6x8 speakers **from authorized dealers** for decent prices
(my shop said they'd match any authorized dealer prices.)

If you have an amp, here is my list of possibilities.

JL 5x7 TR570CXI $99 a set @ The SPECIALISTS CAR AUDIO

Alpine 5x7 SPS-507 $70 a set @ CAR TOYS

INFINITY 5x7 BOGO 1/2 price at CRUTCHFIELD right now?
These are 3ohm? FYI, my shop said lower ohm door speakers run amps hotter, more chances of overheating, 4 ohm speakers are safe.

Boston Acoutsics 5x7 SC85 $135 apiece (from $180?) (Lower WRMS)

**LAST - ALPINE 5x7 SPR-57C $90 a set @ ABT WEB SITE (these were high in WRMS although an older model)**
**'Older' didn't bother me, I was ready to buy these front and rears.**

Then my shop offered me Kenwood Excelon KFC-X683C for $80 a set, which go for $150 in crutchfield.
So, I took them. $80 was offered because I'm having a system put in and he had a stack of them.
He said Alpine's known more for electronics, doesn't recommend Alpine speakers.

I have a word document with these speakers copy pasted along with copy pasted sheets of internet authorized dealers for each of these brands.
It isn't pretty, but it works.

i have jblP8662 in the front door of my f150 hooked up to a 4 channel jbl amp. And let me tell ya they are the best speaker ive ever heard they give out some really nice and clear sound. have 70watts going to them can have the music cranked up and no distortion whats so ever.

 

I have 4 of the jl 5x7 TR, I can sell u for a low price. They are gently used never amped.

 

5x7 and 6 x 8 are the same thing.
