Component Speaker and Amp Wiring Advice

I need some advice on component placement and how best to amp them in a 2002 Expedition Eddie Bauer.

I just picked up a Kicker KX700.5 )amp last night and wanted to get your advice on how you would wire it up for the door speakers.

Kicker KX700.5 is a 5 channel amp rated at 75x4 @ 4ohm + 210x1 @ 4ohm and 85x4 @ 2ohm + 420x1 @ 2ohm.

Front doors are Polk MMC6500 Components (6.5" & 1" tweeter) rated at 125w rms, 250w peak

Rear doors are Polk db571 5x7 Coaxial rated at 90w rms, 200w peak

Currently, I have the 5x7's up front running just off the HU. I will move them to the back doors when I install the amp. I also have an 8" JL 8W0 installed in the factory enclosure. I'm looking for a better 8" sub to replace it with.

My questions are 1) Where would you mount the tweeter for the components and 2) How would you wire the amp?

I've searched the forums to try and find photos of component systems but seems like all have been removed. The triangle panel above the door is going to be tricky since it has a clip in the middle of the panel that would be removed if I mounted the speaker there. Not sure it has enough depth anyways.

I figure I have two options for wiring the amp.

Option 1: One channel per door speaker would give me 75x4.

Option 2: Amp1 (channels 1&2 bridged) to one component speaker and Amp2 (channels 3&4 bridged) to the other component speaker and power the rear db571's off the HU.

Option 2 would give me 165x2 from the Kicker amp to the component speakers and 22w rms, 50w peak from the HU to the db571 in the rear doors.

My thought is Option 2 would be best since I sit up front and my kids sit in the 2nd row.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Here is how I mounted the tweeters in my 2002 F150.

I'm not sure how I would run your amp. I am running an Alpine to all four of my speakers now, and have a separate amp for the sub. Im not sure what the specs are on the factory sub box, but the 8W3 might work or the Kicker CVR 8 should sound better.

Thx for the suggestions and the pic. Very clean install.

I just searched online jl w3 vs kicker cvr and almost everyone recommended the JL over the Kicker. Several mentioned JL would provide better SQ but the Kicker might have more SPL. I would rather have clean bass than just loud boomy or muddy bass.

I'll post pics of my doors tonight when I get home.

I'm still debating if going with components is worth the trouble or just amp my 5x7's in the front door and call it a day. LOL

With the components, I'll need to find a place to mount the xovers, likely drill a hole in my door for the tweeter, run two more sets of RCA's to the amp...

I think it would be a good idea for me to install the woofer and test them out with the amp to see how they sound. Then I can move the tweeter around to see where it sounds best before drilling a hole in my door.

Yeah you should move the tweeters around and find what place sounds best. I mounted my xovers in back by the amp and ran two pairs of wire to each door. Also I think the 8W3 would sound great wasnt sure if you wanted spl or sq.

Mostly looking for SQ with a descent amount of bass. Mainly just want it to be clear.

I actually found a guy on craigslist in another state that was willing to ship me a JL Stealthbox. He upgraded the JL 10w1 to a Memphis sub. Not sure if a 10w3 would fit into the stealthbox nor am I sure how the Memphis would compare to the JL 10w3. It will be here wednesday.
