Single 10 --- ID max or IDQ?

Looking for some opinions on this.
I pretty much have my mind set on what I would LIKE to do
but would just like to hear thoughts on it. I want a good SQ sub that
can also do a little bumping in the rare occasions i want it to.

I want to run a single ten in a custom built box. I first started to look at the
IDmax 10s and almost pulled the trigger on one. But the IDQ10 keeps scratching the back of my head and its a bit cheaper too.

So heres the deal, given the choice would you run:

A. An ID max 10 in a sealed (cu ft per spec) box

B. An IDQ 10 In a sealed (per spec) box

C. An IDQ 10 in a built to recommended spec bandpass box

Sub will more than likely downfire in sealed enclosure unless i go bandpass.
Plan on running about 400 watts to the IDQ at 4 ohms or 800 watts to the ID max at 2 ohms.
Dont really want to do a ported setup and im not even sure the extra headache of doing the bandpass would be worth it.
But the bandpass would look way cooler in the setup im planning to build.
Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Where is the box going to go? You might be able to fit the IDQ under the seat, but you wont fit the max. I'd stick to sealed designs for these ID woofers, IME they sound best sealed. The max would be a lot of fun, but if you have the power and money why not do 2 IDQs?

The box will be a built center console unit. From my measurements and crude schematics it looks like i can squeeze about 2.2 cubes out of the space if i sacrifice a lot of things which i really dont want to. That diminishes the size to a max 1.2 cubes.

I can build the box with enough airspace to suffice the Max. The thing is space and money wise, i would like to stick to one sub saving a bit of both with one IDQ. Ideally two IDQs would be favorable, I just dont feel like burning thru that much cash right now and would like the extra space for a decent storage console.

I have it planned out so far for one IDQ in a .8 total cube, sealed, center console downfired box. I just wanted to get an opinion mainly between running the single IDQ or shelling out just a bit more for a single IDMAX and increasing the space a bit.

Sealed is my prime choice, I recently did a sealed underseat box with dual ID 10s at .77 cubes per in a ram that sounded amazing. I just want to do something slightly different than the typical underseat sub box.

If you can fit an IDMax 12 in the console then I would consider that also... would work fine in 1.2 ft^3.

If you acan fit a 12" and use 1.2 cubes and are willing to spend that much, you should no doubt get this sub:

Extremely clean with ridiculous output.

The Shiva is an excellent choice as well... the XBL2 motor provides squeaky clean output and super low inductance! Plots out very well in 1.2-1.4 ft^3.

I have been trying to stay away from the 12s due to the overall width of the console being a tad bit under 14 with the flat area where the shifter would normally go being only 10".
A few other aesthetics play into the overall width that i do not want to veer to far from.
The SHIVA is new to me and looks to be a quality built sub and at about 260 to my door, its starting to look interesting. Hmmm....
