re sl-12 d4 subs

Well i went out and bought me some new subs today.
They are as the title says re sl-12 d4.

Now i was just wondering about a box.

They reconmend 0.74 optimal sealed box
or
1.25 @35 hz ported compact
or
1.5 @35 hz ported optimal.

I am going to build the box behind my rear seats in my 01 screw

i was wondering what yall think i can do. Can i build a box big enough for the ported or can i only get one big enough for the sealed. I bought two of em.

Thans

Have you done anything with these yet? I can barely find any info on these particular subs but they'd fit my build pretty well.

Picking out subs for a 09+ supercrew is a PITA experience.. !

Of all the slim subs.. JL is over priced, RE has next to no user experience out there(and possibly are discontinued), SI aren't available now/anytime soon, and pretty much everything else is supposed to sound like crap.

It took about a month and a half but I was finally able to source two SI MKIII. It was worth the wait.

With that being said, I would love to hear opinions on how these RE shallows sound.

The MKIII require a little less box size, .5 vs .74 and are recommended for sealed.

ive looked into getting 2, maybe 3 of those, id really like to know how they sound and what the output is like, but the RE shallows are not too bad from what ive heard, but as most people in car audio will tell you it still looks like the SI BM is the way to go right now, ive heard nothing but amazing things about those subs

The reason the SI is so far superior to everything else is because of its soft parts and better motor topology for low distortion. The parts allow it to perform in a super small enclosure but yet still provide plenty of output with very low distortion.

Now with that said, the Type R shallow has about the same klippel verified linear displacement as the SI. So given you can fit them in their enclosure size and provide adequate power, output should be right on par with the BMs. Their distortion performance isn't that bad either from what I've heard, but likely not as good as the BMs.

I gave in to all the BS surrounding slim subs and bought an srx12d4. I'll just have to make the thing fit under the seat. Porbably just going to build a MDF enclosure and do a fiberglass cap over the magnet into the recess of the seat..
