Maybe a Dumb Question-Subwoofer

Can you put a sub in without an AMP and drive it with the head unit? Would you get decent bass from it?

Thanks for any help.

If you dont want an amp, then look into a powered subwoofer like the bazooka tube. I don't think trying to power a regular subwoofer off of the head unit is possible and if it is, it would not be worth it

some head unit's can do this believe it or not. they not only have bridgeable channels for more power, but they have built in crossovers, although you'd only be able to get maybe 30 watts rms to power the sub, rather than meek 12-17watts rms head units put out. i think kenwood makes one, maybe alpine.

so in short no it's not be good way to run a sub but, if you wanted it temp set up then it wouldn't be a bad way to go.

Yes, you can. It would be overly inefficient as the HU really doesnt have the capacity to drive many aftm subs. Instead its more build for factory subs as they require normally less than 50w. Many manus design their HU's to do such work.
