Kicker Subs
Kicker Subs
I have a 2006 F-150 Four Door, I think im gonna get 2 12" Kicker Subs in a box under the back seat, and then an amp.
I was wondering if anyone else had this, would that fit without messing with the seat, and what amp do you have and where do you have it? Also if you dont mind, how much did you pay? I would love some pics if you can, thanks alot

Don't buy kicker..... Only high school kids and rappers use kicker. I infact have had my fair share of kicker products, but then my ears and tastes matured. I'm only 20 so it's not saying much, but practically every other name brand beats kicker. Go Rockford, JL, or research some other lesser known companies like Image dynamics, RE Audio, Digital Designs, etc. You'll be glad you did. Kicker amps are good though. Excellent power.
Kicker CVX are good subs or solobarics rounds, doesnt need much space for sealed box. And like he said their amps are good. I Run a Hifonics colossus 3200 wrms ... But I'd just say there's better subs for the price of the kickers. Like the rest of the popular brands JL, Rockford, Kicker, RE, alot of the prices are inflated with the name brand. I've got a 2006 SuperCab with 3 12's (backseat removed). you can build a subwoofer box to fit under the seat but there are alot or prefab subwoofer boxes that are made for our trucks but are usually dual 10 inch boxes. like this one

I'd definately get some polyfil stuffing for the small air space, and a subwoofer like powerbass very Solid subwoofers. (with those subs you may not even need the polyfil)

and an amp like

I say get it that big incase you want future upgrades. Connect those subwoofers @ 4ohms.
My System cost is about 3000$ including extra batteries, amps, components, wiring, subwoofers, etc.
goodluck!

Kicker cvx are indeed good subs... I had 2 12's in a custom box behind my reg cab seat in my last truck... But the warranty is crap... I blew one in 6 months and kicker wouldn't honor the warranty. And for their price you can get something way better. My CVX's made my hood and doors doing the wave though. Definitely the loudest system I've ever had. SPL was insane. But your not going to ever fit them anywhere unless you take out a seat. Ha. Or drive a reg cab. Like louderisbetter said, go with something else. I recommend trying digital designs or image dynamics. You'll be really happy.
In today's world lot of the mainstream companies like Kicker, Rockford, MTX, Powerbass, Audiobahn, Power Acoustik etc build very similar products. Most of them use the same out-dated design, the same cheap parts, and the same assembly plants in China...and over course extremely overrated to get the typical uneducated consumer to purchase it. Comparing them is somewhat silly since given the proper install/power, one will rarely perform different from the other. It is quite sad that the industry has taken this turn, as some of these companies used the build excellent equipment in the past. Nowadays, you can either pay a ton of money (JL Audio, RE) or look past the mainstream stuff at smaller, off-brand companies to get quality products.
To the OP (Dasenger): What are your goals? Are you more after SPL or clean sound? Do you want an underseat install? What is your budget? Answer these and we can get you pointed in the right direction.

When im not sure what SPL is, but i think i want a more clean bass, i listen to bands like boston, metallica, styx, pantera, that kind of stuff. and yes i want it under the seat, im looking to spend no more than about $400,
I was quoted for two 12 inch cvt kickers, with the box and an amp, and they will install for $520. Also any speakers i want (4 of them) for $200
does that sound like good prices?
thanks for the help

I know alot of people will talk down on kicker L7s but I am a strong believer in them! I have had many different set ups in my truck and I should have went with the L7s in the first place! I first had 2 shallow mount pioneer 10s under my seat being pushed by a zx400.1 kicker amp. I think they sounded good if you are looking for just a little extra bump that sounds clean. Then a buddy of mine gave me his 2 old 10 inch Merlon audio subs in a ported box that I just had sitting on my back seat. My kicker amp eventually messed up and I replaced it with a BAMF 2000/1D from Power Acoustik. This sounded really good! They would bump pretty good for an old set of subs. Then I bought two kicker L7 10s from a buddy of mine and all I can say is wow! They are loud! My roomate has one 12" CompVX and it also bumps and sounds very nice but my 2 L7s are a bit louder. Some people say that L7s sound terrible but I disagree. I have been installing many different systems over the last couple of years and have heard alot of different brands so I know the difference between sounding good and just being loud but not clean. I also like to BUMP! though. If your wanting to bass out very loud but still sound clean I would suggest L7s.
