sub box help.....
Howdy all! I had a couple questions about a sub box that i would like to get my dad for christmas. Ill try to keep this short... He is driving a 97 F250 7.3 diesel club cab. Its a really nice truck and is jacked up just about the perfect hight and looks great. I started slowly building him a system last year and so far its turned out really nice. He is super happy with it and shows it off to his buddies all the time. But im not happy with it because its not complete yet. So far he has a kick a$$ Panasonic show quality dot matrix, RARE limited edition head unit. Dont have the numbers on me right now... it was originaly a $1200 unit. Looks amazing and is got so many options that he will never use. But its still user friendly. For the front he has a Rockford T1 component set. I believe its the T1652-s. Custom fit door panel mounts. With an extra set of satelite rockfod tweeters for an added high freaquency. In the back he has a set of Power Rockford T1692 two way full range 6x9's in the rear. The rear is only powered by the head unit, (for now). And the front is powered by a Rockford Prime R250 single channel amp. I know its a crap amp!.... But its what i have for now. It sounds amazing in the truck right now.... But my problem is,,,, Its time for the real deal!!!! SUBS!
I want to put a single 12 inch sealed sub, down fireing under what little of a seat he has in the back. Ive got the sub, which is a older model 12' DVC Power. Great sub... I barely used it. But it needs a box. And i dont have the time to build one. Ive done all my own calculations and specs on what i want... But i cant find anything.
I need at least 1.25 cu ft of air space in a single, sealed down fire box. It will be powered by a 2 channel Rockford 800a2 amp. 4 ohm mono, running at about 80-100 hz. Havent decided on that yet. im gonna have to play with that a little. I need To get him a box. And i know that a lot of the boxes for his truck require a rear seat lift. And i dont care about that.
Can anybody help me out? Need a box, and i dont want to pay a ton of money either. Any ideas?

you could always build your own. take lots of measurements then make a cardboard cutout on what you want then make it out of 1/2" MDF. or 3/4" MDF. the 3/4" is a little much for under a seat but it depends on how much room you got.
With that 12" your facing several problems. One, the amount of air space needed isn't available. Two, what is the mounting depth going to be on that 12"? I suggest you go with a 10" and you'll have a lot more options. All the stuff you'll have to do to get that 12 in there will cost you more money than buying a new 10.
