Question Opinions?

Hey guys,

Looking to replace my stock sound system over the holidays. I'm broke, more or less, and don't want to spend too much money but still want to get a decent system. I should also mention I'm almost entirely clueless on stereo stuff.

How's this sound? Good, bad, opinions are appreciated!

I was looking at Alpine Type-R's for the front: http://www.crutchfield.com/s_500SPR5...7C.html?tp=105

Kenwood in the rear (lower quality, but I don't want to drop the cash to put in all Alpine Rs): http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KFC6...ures_and_specs

and then this Alpine deck: http://www.crutchfield.com/s_500CDA1...5.html?tp=5684

I would also try and pull some overtime to put the behind-the-deck Alpine amp in there as well.

Good idea? waste of money?

If you wanna save some coin, I'd run these JBLs up front and ditch the rear speakers.

The Alpine is a decent HU but doesn't have very good EQ capabilities or Bluetooth. Depending on how much you want to spend, I'd look at something else. Kenwoods in that price range offer much better features.

I've read mixed reviews on the Alpine amp, I'd honestly run with a real full-size amp. Do you plan on adding a sub later?

Your saying run stock speakers in the rear and the JBL's up front?
I'll give the Kenwoods a look, not too worried about blue too but I prefer to have some EQ ability. I have no plans to add any subs as of now and the truck gets used as a truck quite often, hence the reason I was looking at the mini-amp and not something I have to protect elsewhere in the truck.

Yes. I'm not a big fan of rear fill. Music is recorded in stereo and meant to be played in front of you. If you really want to run the Alpine amp, then the 105 is fine.
