SI BM mk3s are in!

First off, I want to say thank you to mSall for helping me out with box dimensions for the subs! It was a great help and I think the box turned out pretty well for my first box made. I put some tan carpet on it and it fits super snug, flush, and doesn't move at all.

I didn't do the install myself as I had to work but before work I took my truck to Stereo One in Memphis and let them do it for me for $100. Normally it would cost more but I'm in there so much I get a discount for most things and it was much faster than what I could have done.

Those subs sound amazing and finished up my stereo equipment for the truck. This is the first vehicle I've put any aftermarket sound equipment into but most of my friends have done stuff to their cars but I wanted to do it my first vehicle I paid for myself. It took me a while to get it all done but I finally got it done between medical bills and college costs. Pics posted below.

Here's what's in the truck stereo-wise:
Headunit: Pioneer AVIC-X920BT
Subs: (2) 12" Stereo Integrity BM mkIII
Sub Amp: Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D
Speakers: (2) Polk Audio mm571 and (1) Polk Audio db1001
Speaker Amp: JL Audio G4500

Pictures of the box and subs and rest of the install would be appreciated. I'm glad you like how the subs perform.

I'll go take some pictures here shortly of the box and subs in. I don't have any of it being installed, only the finished product.

I wasn't sure if I could install the stuff myself and didn't want to mess anything up so I let a shop do it and they gave me a discount since they've done all my stereo stuff. I don't want to mess anything up and not have it since it's my only mode of transportation since someone stole my motorcycle.

A friend of mine with 2 15"s (I forget what brand he has in his Malibu) was surprised at how they sounded for their size. He was shocked when he saw where it was coming from.

Glad I was able to help!! That is a sweet looking enclosure for $100. The BMs really are the ultimate ticket for a stock look with incredible performance.

Final dimensions of your box?

That's a nice clean install you've got there! I really like how stock and nice looking the enclosure is as well.

mSall, it ended up being 50.5" long, 13" deep, and 6" tall using 5/8" MDF. We used your base dimensions and found out we could shorten it a half inch and make it taller to achieve the proper airspace. The side parts where the legs are are 8" tall to give it the proper ground clearance.

Thanks Nick, they sound great. I love them and it was well worth the wait!

I jsut got mine in last week and had them installed the day after. It's incredible, for what I listen to, jsut one does the job and then some. The guys said that they were surprised how worn in it was already from Nick's testing and that I didn't have to do the normal breaking in of it for a few weeks. I'm still doing it though just to be safe.

On some of my country songs it feels like the bass drum is actually kicking you in the back...I LOVE IT. I don't know how I can ever get rid of it. Probably won't. Definitely worth the near 5 month wait.

Wow, that box/install looks great! I'm looking to put a pair of the BM mkIII's in my SuperCrew, but I'm a little stuck with the box. Do you think you could help me out with the specs on the box since I'd like to do the same thing you did?

Congrats man I got mine last week and in last weekend and I LOVE it also.

My only regret is I kinda want another now haha.

At first it was alright and added just enough at low level volumes but then once I had the truck by myself ( no sleeping son) I opened it up and dayum it was amazing

Haha, I'm glad you like the drivers. FYI: I test them for a good bit, but I don't have to break them in because the suspension is already soft compared to most drivers. That 15 Hz free air resonance doesn't come from a stiff suspension. In order to play very low in a tiny box we had to do some neat design work (AKA that gigantic 10" nomex spider stuffed inside the basket).

usa414, where are you stuck at? The box specs are posted in this thread somewhere.

Nick, these things still continue to amaze me. My friend wanted to hear them a few days ago so I met up with him at Buffalo Wild Wings. He said he could hear me coming before he saw me and that it sounded really good from a good bit away and only improved as I got closer. When he actually saw what was producing the sound he was astounded.

Thejake, 2 of them are insanely awesome. If you can, I'd get another one quick.
