Looking to put a system in my 06 screw

I plan on getting a double din nav system, speakers, amp and sub done up. I have found the nav system and speakers but not sure about sub or box. where can i find a box that is made for the truck and do i need shallow subs or will any 10in work? i want to go with kickers cause thats what ive had in my car before and love it. so either one or two kickers depending on the box size and placement.

i have kicker 6x8s in my car now. i know the stock speakers in the truck are 6x8 so will my kickers swap over? reason i ask cause the kickers best buy has for sale say they dont fit but the 6x8 pioneers they have says they do.

See my Audio video Album, my box was built at a shop to my specs, but Atrend, Fox, and Supercrewsounds all make good boxes for our trucks.

the search button is your friend on this, you'll find other setups and some pics. Some setups that will range from a couple hundred to a few thousand...

good luck

Just because the speaker will fit the diameter, doesn't necessarily mean it will fit depth wise. Have you looked at the mounting depth of both of those speakers at best buy? I haven't pulled my door panels yet to see what kind of clearance issues I may run into with the window though so I couldn't tell you if we need shallow depth speakers or not. Someone else may be able to chime in and let you know.

With a 3/4" baffle I was able to fit a 7" speaker with 3.2" depth into the front door. However, with the same baffle a 7" speaker with 3.7" depth didn't fit. I have resorted to kick panels for the mids.

The kicker 6x8's should fit in your doors depth wise. They arent too much deeper the pioneers. And there is a decent amount of space in these trucks

well i looked at the two speakers and the kickers depth is a 1/4in difference. pioneer is 2 1/2in and kicker was 2 3/4 in mount depth. I am still comtemplating on if i want subs put in or not but im going with the AVIC-X910BT for my HU. Then hopefully the kicker 6x8 all the way around and if i go with subs i want kicker but thats my next question. Do the subs gotta be shallow or will the 10" kicker comps work in the boxes made for under our seats? I guess i just need to find the depth of the box.

For all the audio/sound expert: I installed my amp, sub, and HU in my current car. How much trouble would i have doing all this to mine or should i just have it done professionally? Just trying to save some money but i want it to look like it was all stock.

I got the box that fits under the seat in my truck with two RF 10s. Its tight under there but they fit and as for the box the place where i had it done had them in stock. I know people who have the kicker 6x8 and they love them. You cant go wrong with kickers.

None at all. The biggest pain is running the power cabling, and that's just for the frustration of snaking fifteen or twenty feet of wire through the nooks and crannies. Everything else is a snap. Adapters for the wiring harnesses, friction clips for the dash fascia, couple of bolts for the rear doors, nothing to it but time and a little searching on the forum for the "install" threads.

When I installed mine back at the first of the year I'd never touched an F150 dash. Schooled myself on the particulars via the forum and it went together without a hitch.

the biggest thing i would be worried about is the nav system going in correctly. i may just take it to a shop to have that installed but do the rest my self. as of right now i think i may wait on the subs until i decide if i wanna do one sub two subs or none at all.

i had a custom box with two p2 12 inch subs and custom seat put in my 2006 with a jenson dvd nav system. I had kicker before that. and i would have to say the rockfords were the best by far. I go nothing but rockford now. it shook everything.
