Stock Speaker Replacement And Audio Processor?

Hey Everyone,

I have just spent the last 4 hours on here reading about replacing the stock speakers in my 07 F150 Screw. I have read lots of good reviews and pretty much have an idea of what to go with.

However I do need some advice on whether or not I should go with 6X8, 5X7 or 5 1/4 speakers. I am leaving my stock HU and just want a little more clarity in my sound.

There is one more thing. A while ago I had read up on another guy replacing his stock speakers and someone had posted that the stock HU will restrict the amount of audio coming out when it is turned up. He then provided inormation about a product that you can install that will allow maximum output from the stock system.

I would like to know if anyone remembers this or can find me the post. I have tried the search function but I don't know the proper information I should search for so I haven't come up with anything.

best advice is that now that you have your choices go to a store and listen to them. then you can finally make a choice as to what sounds best TO YOU.

these are called sound processors. an example would be the mtx req5. they restore some lost levels in your audio and also give you some preamp outputs to add amplifiers to your system if you choose.

I have found an answer to my question about the audio processor. It is www.reqsound.com but unfortunately it won't help my situation b/c I am not installing an additional sub or amp.

you can add an amp without replacing the factory deck, you can find an amp with high level inputs where you would just run wires from the speakers to the input which will give the amp it's signal.
Or you can get a line out converter, or I like to call them line level converter.. but whatever it is you call them it will accomplish what you need to add an amp without replacing the factory head unit, give you much better sound on your aftermarket speakers.
