Exclamation Infinity Kappa's VS Infinity Reference's

Hey guys, I recently purchased the Infinity Reference 5x7 component speakers and im starting to think that I should have spent the extra $100 and had gotten the kappa components. Is the kappa components really worth the extra $100 sound wise? I'd hate to go through the hassle of sending them back if its not gonna be a real big difference. Thanks for your input fellas!! P.S. I put regular 2 way infinity kappas in the back to add to my sound quality if any of ya'll were wondering.

I have the Infinity Kappa's 6x8's in the rear & the Infinity Kappa separates in the front of my 04 scab. Really like them. I never heard the reference series so I cannot say.
But I can recommend the Kappa series. Hope this helps.

in my experience, the kappas are best installed with amp while reference sound fine without. if your running off an external amp then yes the kappas will sound better, by far. if running straight from head unit...... its a toss up... kappas will sound a little better but not sure if its $100 worth. hope this helps

It is not worth the money to send them back. Both are built of similar materials and should perform similarly given the same power and same environment. Until you invest in a proper install, different drop-in speakers aren't going to be incredibly different in performance.

I have the Kappa
s and they are awesome. I had the Kicker 6x8s and returned them for these. Night and day difference. I found them on Ebay for under $100 and bought two pair.

I had them hooked to my factory deck and they sounded great. I have them hooked to a Kenwood 6160 with a Alpine F540 (85 watts rms per channel) and you'd think you had a sub installed.

Well worth the money to me.
