speaker swap question

Quick question I just replaced my factory speakers with infinity 6830's and 6832's . when i turn up the volume i get no sound untill about 3 bars on the volume is this normal. i do plan on amping them later but just wondering if maybe i have my wires crossed somewhere. just to add i have the base single cd radio.

Im no audio expert, but some speakers have a minimum power input. It could be that the stock radio isn't sending enough power to the speakers until the volume is turned up enough.

Like I said its just a shot in the dark, but it makes sense to me anyway.

There is also a speed setting on the OEM radio. The faster you go, the louder it gets. I have mine turned on and can come to a stop and the radio act like it's not even on.

Chances are it's the speed setting. The smallest amount of power going to a speaker will produce sound, but if there's no sound until the 3rd bar then it kicks in, that is an electronic programming issue, not a mechanical speaker issue.
