One more question:

I received all the material in the mail today.

I plugged in the adaptor (did not connect the blue wires) and plugged the RCA's into the sub out put. It did not work.

Do the blue wire need to be hooked up for the subs to work?

Also, I am not filmier with the resistors; do I just strip some of the wire around the pionner wire and wrap the resistor around it and tape it?

Yes you need to hook up the blue wires, thats the turn on signal, with out it the amp will never turn on.

crimping or soldering would be better than just twisting the wires together.

I like to think I know a bit about car audio. I've done wiring for subs and amps a few times.

I've tried this a few different ways and NO LUCK!

I'm a bit disapointed, but I have given up and will just take the truck to a car audio place, get raped with labor costs... but will finally have it all done...

thanks for the help!

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the wiring for a OEM sub under my seat, so I bought one from a forum member, I plugged it in and it does not work. Is there something else that has to be done for the to make the factory sub work? I already checked the fuse and it was good, there is also power at the amp.
Thanks

About 90% of the 04-08 scabs and screws XLT and up had the wiring there for the factory sub, even tho only 15% or so actully got the Audiophile system from the factory. If your still running the stock HU, pull it out and see if you have the three plugs (4 with antenna) plugged into the back. If there is only two + antenna, then you do not have the audiophile HU and the sub will not work. The only way to tell w/o pulling the HU is if you have the single disc or the rare single disc/casette combo then you do not have the audiophile system. If you have the six disc HU, then you need to pull it and check because they came with or w/o audiophile.

And before you ask, the audiophile system came with a higher power six disc HU w/sub output, component speakers in the front, better quality 6x8's in the rear, and an 8" sub under the back seat with its own amp. The audiophile system was available only on FX4 and up scab and screws in 04-05, in 06 XLT's were added to the lineup, and in 07 FX4 regular cabs were added.

Thanks for the great information. It seems strange that an 06 Lariat would have all the wiring but not the audiophile system....Oh Well, now I paid for a sub that will not work until I spend more money on a different HU.

The biggest question is if I don't have the audiophile door speakers, but I do have the sub and the head unit, will it all work?

AND does anyone know what the part number is for the Audiophile unit with MP3 and satellite is?

I am hoping I can find someone on the forums that has replaced their audiophile unit with aftermarket and wants to sell it.

Thanks again,

Yep, that will work. The door speakers all use the same wiring harness and plug so you can run the stockers with the audiophile deck or vice versa.

I believe only the king ranch got the audiophile system as standard equipment, everything else was optional.

Will this radio also keep my steering wheel controls?
Will it be just a plug and play replacement that will allow my sub to work?

Is there any reason why this radio would not work, even though it came from a Fusion?
