Well, I'm impressed.

Bought a cheap eBay box and a couple of CVR 10's to replace my Fox Box and Infinity 10's I just sold...

WOW.

I have my Kenwood KAC 9104D pushing them, same one I used on the Infinitys, same one I used on some of the exact same CVR's but in the Fox Box, and same one I used on my JL W3.

Its insane compared to any of those setups.

I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone. And for the haters, they are just as tight on rock music as any other 10's I've had except for the Infinity's, but what I would consider the niche of subwoofers, rap, they absolutely blow every other setup I've ever had in any vehicle out of the water. That includes Pioneer, JL, other Kickers, MTX, Audiobahn, Infinity, Polk, and some others I can't remember.

Now if I can just get my supercrew sound box for 2 12's, 2 12" CVX's with a Kicker 1500.1 pushing...

I had an 8" CVR pushed by an old kenwood PS-150 and I was really impressed, so I upgraded to a single 10" CVR in a musicmoose audio box pushed by an 8104D. I know exactly how you feel. I'm now thinking about stepping up to a pair of them and the 9104D like you have.

Its hard to recommend 1 box over another because each isnt going to work better with different drivers. Air space being different, performance will vary by driver and power.

Chris, I'll try to get one up this week.

05RedFX4, I highly recommend that you do.

Pork, I love your handle, and that is exactly what makes it so hard to be happy with a setup in these trucks. I had the same type Kicker CVR 10's in my Fox Box and was not impressed at all, I sold them and put my Infinity's back in. It's a night a day difference in how they react to the difference in boxes.

ChrisAU, how do you have them wired up and what ohm rating are they. There was a guy a few weeks ago who had a problem with a 9104D running at 1 ohm, he kept blowing fuses. Turns out the amp is not really stable at 1 ohm.

BTW I found out my 10" CVR like a little poly-fill so I picked up a bag at wally world for 3 bucks. My box volume is .7 cube and the 10" cvr needs .8 minimum

I bought these already together from a buddy of mine, and I couldn't tell you if they are 2-ohm or 4-ohm, and I don't plan on touching the setup. They sound incredible.

And I remember that guy having that problem at 1-ohm, and I don't think he was doing something right. I ran those Infinity's at 1-ohm for almost a year with that amp with no problems whatsoever.

As far as external wiring, I have each sub run to its own output on the amp (for those who don't know, even though the 9104D is a mono amp, it has two outputs should you choose to use them).

Yo Chris can I get a link to the box you purchased off ebay?

Planning on adding subs here in the next few months.

My 8104D is setup the same way but it is only stable down to 2 ohm.

I hear ya, i just did 2 IDQv3 12's in the back of my standard cab downfireing 2 weeks ago off of an ARC 900.1. Unfortunatly 1 sub came misalligned so i havent been able to give it good power. Waiting on alignment spacers from Eric @ID so i can try to realign it without having to RMA it.

I'm not sure if its the exact one because I bought it from a buddy who bought it, but it sure looks exactly the same and these are the only eBay boxes with enough mounting depth.

I've heard maybe 3 or 4 different truck setups with a pair of these exact same subwoofers. I don't know what it is about them but I could never get them to sound good. On rap most subwoofers will sound relatively similar (although different in output) given the distorted nature of the recordings. But toss in a lossless recording file and these subwoofers just dont blend well at all. Its just sloppy, they are too easy to localize.

But everyone has their preferences. Theres a reason Kicker sells so many of these things, they seem to fit most peoples' needs for a decent price.

Like I said, I had a pair of them before, and they sounded like s***. The only reason I bought these is because my buddy let me hear them in his F150 before I bought them and they sounded decent and he gave me all of it for a hell of a price...

He had a single Kicker 400.1 pushing them, I guess my amp just blows his to hell and back on output. Talk about being pleasantly surprised.

I kinda discovered the same thing. If you give them a lot of juice they sound incredible. You're setup can handle 800w RMS and you're giving them 900w and mine can handle 400w RMS and I'm showing them 500w
