1 Kicker Comp CVT 12 vs 2 Planet Audio RX 10s

Looking for opinions on the kicker vs the planets audios, Im more concerned with SPL instead of SQ. I have never ran PA but in my old camaro I had 2 kicker cvr 12's on a kicker kx1200.1 and loved it

*****EDIT Kicker 12" not 10"

I dont think its really necessary...your comparing a 400w rms sub with a 150w rms sub, and the OP is looking for SPL instead of SQ? Pretty obvious choice i think.

it mite be a tought call.. with 2 10 inch subs you get 20 inchs of cone area.. which will be more sound.. but with the 12 you will have over double the watts. mite be real close..

More cone area doesn't necessarily mean more sound. And more power doesn't necessarily mean more sound either...

2 10s will give you 157 sq inches of cone area. 1 12 will give you 113 sq inches of cone area. However, those 10s are very excursion limited so the 12 will likely displace similar amount of air as those 2 particular 10s combined. The 12 will also play lower frequencies with authority in the proper enclosure.

But IMO, I'd go with neither of those options for SPL. Actually I would do neither for SQ either.
