2004 f150 lariat factorysub/replacement

I have read a lot of past threads about the factory sub that I have. It sounds really good but i can tell it is blown with deeper bass or higher volume. I have a replacement box with a 10 inch kicker comp vr but it sticks out a little more. Has anyone just taken the factory sub out of the box and replaced it with a new aftermarket? Just wondering what is the easier, better way to go.

I have the 6 disk changer headunit that I want to keep unless I can get the new nav/dvd if it is an easy swap with no problems. Either way just wanting advice. Either swap out the sub or a little help with the new sub/box installation.

Lastly would like to upgrade the factory head unit from a new f150 unit...any ideas or advice? Email me wyyldstang@hotmail.com

You wont be able to just plug and play the kicker/box in place of the audiophile sub/box. You will also need an aftermarket amp and a wiring kit.
