Help with amp settings

I have a kenwood KAC-8104D powering a jl 10w1 in a down firing box. How should I set my amp so that the sub doesn't bottom out on the carpet.

Also, how do you know if the sub isn't tight enough in the box?

What do you mean if the sub isnt tight enough in the box?

Dont adjust your amp to stop the sub from hitting the carpet, you need to raise your box/get a new one, which it sounds like you might need if your sub is loose...

I thought that there might be an air leak between the box and the sub but it doesn't feel like it. I just don't know if the gain is to high. There's a lot of rattle where the sub hits on the floor. can you just dynamat that area?

Flip the sub over and leave the seats up. Then play your sub, see if its the sub thats making the noise or if its contact. If its contact then youd see visible damage to the sub.
Floor shouldnt rattle, its covered in carpet and i doublt your pushing enough power to flex the floor.
