Speaker install question

Im looking at getting some infinity speakers for my 2007 F-150 and dont have the time to install them (driving across country in a week, want them before I leave). I got quoted $130 for the install of 4 speakers...is that a little high? Sounds a little more expensive than I have paid in the past but that was a while ago. I just dont want to get ripped off on the install!

well, I just installed infinity kappas all the way around in my 06 F150 last weekend.

I will tell you that the front speakers are EASY because you can just pop off the grill and replace the stock units.

For the rear speakers, you have to totally remove the inner door panels to get to the speakers. So, it is more time consuming.

That being said, I think $130 is a good price. If the rear speakers were easy like the fronts I'd say you are getting ripped off.

Also, if your speakers have an external crossover like the kappas, make sure you zip tie those things out of the way of the power windows. If you just let them dangle or you secure them in the wrong place your windows WILL rip those things off and destroy your speakers.

Good luck!

Prices vary by region and shop. Only way to tell if your getting a deal is to compare to places around you.

It would be $110 labor to have Geek Squad do it for you.

$130 doesn't sound too bad, especially if you're running components. What kind of speakers are you running? Components or Coaxials? Here is what I would do. I'd install the front speakers since they are a sinch, just pop off the face over the speakers on the front door and do the swap. Then just have the rears done. You should be able to shed a few bucks off the labor price for what, 10 minutes of your time or less?

Thats why we charge $40 for the fronts instead of the normal $70. Speaker grills = $40, Door panels or back seats = $70, components = $90. The fronts are pretty cake. I also recommend plug and play speaker harnesses so that you dont cut off or have to splice into your factory wiring.

I very much second that motion. I cut my harness off. Oh well, can't look back! It's not like I'll ever go back to crappy stock full ranges though.
