need advice

im running an aftermarket deck with kenwood 6" components in all 4 doors. im looking to add a subwoofer to my 2002 supercrew. should i go with a bass tube like a bazooka or sub and box. not looking to spend alot of money. according to my calculations (if they are correct) the 250w class d 8" bazooka tube at about 195watts will produce approx. 125db. thats about what im wanting 125-135db's please help me decide what to do. budget is no more than $500.

Go with a sub and amp. Probably go with a 10 upfiring seems to be a fan favorite. Ive never heard anything great about bazooka tubes

With 500 I would go with a single 12 and an amp to meet the rms.

I would go dual 4 so you can wire it in parallel for 2 ohms.

If they are components like you said then yeah definatly. I would have no idea what the db levels would be but I'd say over a 100 if installed properly.

yes they are kenwood KFC-P680C plate components. as far as the air space for the sub, do you think i should shoot for around .75 or more like a 1.00?

I wouldn't go over .7-.8 because the recommended airspace on those are .3 cu in. I would try for about .6 to get a nice deep bass. You don't want to little or to much.

There is no way to know how many decibels your gonna hit. I've heard of a single 8 hitting in the 150s with 300w rms. It is all install dependent. But drive around and check out some local shops since your not looking for anything major. Then come back and tell us which subs you liked and how much they are

Alpine cda 9886 or 9887 for a decent price. Maybe a lesser model to fit the budget. Or a kenwood excelon x693
