Sub Box Idea

I'm new to this forum and am looking for some help with sub boxes. I have an
'01 F150 Super Crew and i'm looking to put two 12's BEHIND the seat, not UNDER. I want to get subs with a bigger mounting depth then 5 1/2 inches (im looking at about 6.5 inch mounting depth). Has anyone done this? Does anyone have any advice on it? Suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i have 2 10s ported behind my seat of my 01 supercrew with 5.5ish mounting depth.(PG RSDC 10s) Trust me..there is NOT a lot of room back there without modification..and most subs even then require a lot of airspace...which these subs dont..we had to make seat mounts to push the seats forward to fit so it wouldnt hit the box...long story cause teh box could have been built better and more accurately but still.......if you really worked at it then im sure you can do it..since nothing is impossible...just not really that great of a scenario. you cant get much more mounting depth than 5.5 and also to mention its like 5/8 mdf...the guy who built it for me is on this forum...talk to him if you want...but it didnt fit STOCK...when he said it was going to....had to modify the **** out of it...very disappointed...said he was to fix the problem but never returned calls...as in didnt give a ****. do NOT buy from the dude. not recommended..but he did build a decent box and it works well. i was going to build it myself but was too lazy...but now i know better..still sounds good though

The Qs will not fit, no way in hell. Airspace is a problem, mounting depth is a problem, and 27mm of one way linear is a problem...

If you are looking for some serious boom, you need more airspace and going behind the seat isn't really an option. Maybe remove part of your backseat and go with a box ported box?

I have the lmi 2.5" seat lift and a 12" fi bl ported with the sundown saz 1500d. It barely fits. Took about 30 minutes just to push the box under the seat haha
