Hey guys this is my first post so forgive me if i screw anything up. Anyways i dont know much about subs but im looking to get probably two 10s under the back seat of my supercrew. So i was wondering what you guys would recomend as for what sub and amp to get. And also what a fair price would be. oh yeah i mostly listen to rap (which is why i want the subs) but i like some rock and country too. Thanks in advance sorry for the long post

 

Well as for a box I'd look online for prebuilt custom boxes for under the seat for your truck or get one built. Prebuilt ones run about $80-120 and custom built ones run more but will probably sound better because they are built for the subs you want. For subs I'd run shallows or a sub that doesn't require to much airspace since you are limited on space. For shallows I'd say Memphis Audio or JL Audio. MTX and Earthquake make some decent shallows. Amps I would go with Memphis, JL, SPL, Arc or Alpine. Polk makes decent amps.

 

Alright thanks man. What watt amp would you reccomend? Also Ive talked to two different shops one recomended just putting a ported box on top of the back seat with two MTX 12s for like 650. And the other one said he could do 2 Memphis tens under the seat for 650. I was leaning towards under the seat but does that sound like a fair price?

 

I wouldn't put a box on top of the back seat because you lose that seat. 650 for a ported box and two 12s is expensive. What kind of MTXs? What kind of memphis 10's? The SClass shallows? Does that price include a full install with amp and everything?

What is your price range? Are you looking for head unit, door speakers, wires and all?

I would get Memphis SClass 10's with a Memphis MClass MC1.1100 Amp or a JL Slash 500/1 v2 amp. With a under the seat box. You can get those subs for about a 150 a piece and the amps for about 3-400.

whats your budget?

and it looks like your goals are to get something loud (since you listen to rap)

subs i would go with the SoundSplinter RL-i 10s. great subs and fairly cheap

for the amp i would go with a sundown audio SAZ 1000D. cheap with great power and customer service

and IMO custom boxes are the way to go!

 

Thanks for all the replies guys. First off no i wasnt looking into a HU or door speakers, just subs for now. Second, yes the price for the Memphis subs did include install, an amp(i think 500 watt but not sure what brand) and a box for under the seat. Im not sure on the exact type of subs they were but i would assume shallow ones. My price is somewhere less than $700 preferably cuz im not too serious about this i just want something that sounds good and loud but not obnoxious.

 

Well if its with the amp, box and install then that's a good price. I would go with it.

I always liked the memphis products ive owned, and still own. I would have went back to a memphis sub if there was a reputable dealer in my area.
Ive got a xover 2amps and a cap that ive been using for 10yrs without fail.
Ive still got 3X memphis studio b 10's sitting in a closet because i wanted more room and to try 12's. Im going to put 1 in wifys mustang and try to sell the other 2.
