Working on getting mine in there pretty soon. You will need to open up the hole wider, and be aware of mounting depth. Even with a thick spacer, to get the door card on its going to be hard to fit anything with a wide magnet and deeper than 3.5" at most. If you cant fit them just get some beefy 6.5 or 7 inch mids, should do just fine.

Search Brypink2's threads. He had 8" rainbows in there at one point I believe.

Midbass in the rear doors = FTL.

anyone have any experience with cadence xenith series amps. i was thinking about getting 2 of the xa 175.4 amps to run my front stage 2 way for now and a 3rd later and bridge each channel for its component for a 3way. but im not sure how they would perform on 8 ohm speakers since there rated for 4 ohm and 2 ohm. i assume the power output would maybe be cut in half running at 8 ohm but being bridged with 350w rms at 4 ohm i think i could get away with 175 w rms at 8 ohm load and power my speakers pretty decient. what do you think?
here is the amp

Do you have the proper processing to run a 3way system + sub? A poorly planned 3 way system will sound a lot worse than a decent 2way + sub. Until you have a good processor for 3way I would stick with 2way.

The Cadence amplifiers are nice, I love my iA series. The watt per dollar for those amps is pretty solid and they do more than rated.

Dont be afraid of 8 ohm speakers. While an amplifier is often rated for less power at 8 ohms, the 8 ohm speakers are generally more efficient so they need much less power to get going. In addition, your amplifier will not have to work as hard at 8 ohm resistance and in turn will last longer and sound cleaner.

You would only need 2 4 channels for a 3 way. One to run tweeters and midranges, and the other bridged for midbass. That is more than enough power, and is what I am working on installing currently.

these are what i have at the moment in the dash

http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/a...DVD/index.html
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...-P8000.Support

since the p8000 eq doesnt offer any way of running 2 or 3 way setups but has the time alignment features so im going to leave it and i was planning on getting one of these to run after it for the 3 way processing to the front stage.

followed by 3 of these amps bridged to each component set tweet, mid range , mid bass.

and these are what im planning on using for the front stage.

That processor is only a 3 way processor, so it could do tweeters/mids/subs. You need a 4way processor to do tweeters/midrange/midbass/subs.

Also you dont need all those amps. Get 2 of them, bridge one to the midbass and run the others to tweeters and midranges. Bridging those to tweeters/mid is unnecessary.

Good luck getting those 9" into the doors, its going to take a lot of modification. If I were you I would look into a beastly 7" midbass like the Seas RNX series or Peerless SLS6. Easier to install and you'll get just as much output.

so you dont think i could just let my deq-p8000 control my subs and use a 3 way crossover to seperate the signal for a the front stage?
those 9" arent to much bigger than a 8" and there not deep at all. is there that little room behind the door panels and on the door itself to mount something like this? i havent ever taken it off yet to look but figured since someone had installed 8" that 9" should be able to fit to.

Speaking of 8's in the doors what do you all think of these:

Kenwood eXcelon KFC-XW800F

Sensitivity is crap but shallow mounts 8's don't have a impressive list from what I've seen so far.

I'd use the Dayton RS225 over that thing anyday.

In the process of doing it now. Wont be done for at least a few weeks though. I am comparing a couple midranges head to head, the dayton RS100 is included. We'll see which one gets to stay.

just out of curiosity have you connected that little thing to anything yet just to see what it sounds like or if it will play loud enough to keep up with other components and not distort? a dayton front stage is what i was originally thinking about but im not sure if 30w speakers would hold up or play loud enough. but i do like dayton speakers the subs i have are pretty clean.

I haven't hooked them up in the truck yet, but I heard them in a friend's car with some Scanspeak tweeters, ID midbass and SI Mag v4 subwoofer and the Daytons more than kept up. They may be rated for little power but they are efficient and get plenty loud. I turned them up incredibly loud and they never distorted even at ridiculous volume, very smooth midranges that can easily play down to 170Hz. He had them on the back 2 channels of a Zuki Eleets amplifier.

i'm wanting to put some 7's in my door as well. So far HAT's, peerless, and seas are all in the running. Depends on the deal I can find at the time I suppose. I'm in the process of redoing everything at this point. Still trying to decide if I want to bite the bullet and pay for the 9140 or not. Let me know how you like the bitone msall, I think thats the direction i'm going as well. Are you thinking about adding a center channel as well?
