question from the new guy...

Sup all, fairly new here to this site and just ordered my 2/4 drop kit and now looking at improving the sounds a little. Did some reading and searching and got a question.

I'm looking for some replacement door speakers for now and some say that the Alpine-S's are direct replacements and some say they need some brackets for mounting. Can someone clarify that? What about the Polk DB571? I do see that i will need the adapters for the wires though right?

Got a ton more questions but gonna try and search for another hour so I don't wear you all out. I was in shock though when I read up on the sub boxes that go under the rear seat of my SCrew. Thats the first thing I thought was out the window when I got my truck (subs).

thanks

Any speaker thats 5x7 or 6x8 will be a direct stock replacement. Worst case youve gotta drill some new mounting holes. You will need speaker harness's unless you want to cut/splice into the factory harness.

You would be amazed at what you can put in the doors with just a little modification. I'm actually in the process of putting 8" subwoofers in my front doors.

When you say "direct stock replacement" what exactly do you mean cause in the next sentence you say I might have to drill holes. I'm guessing you mean they all fit in the holes with a speaker plate adapter and stuff. Can any of them go right in and bolt in stock holes??

I mean that any 5x7 or 6x8 will drop right into your factory opening without modification to the door (unless they are too deep). What I meant was that the factory screw holes may not line up with the mounting tabs on the aftermarket speakers.
