i just installed the pioneer 4100 indash in my 05 f150 screw, and now im wanting to upgrade the speakers, my question is would it make any difference in loudness and clarity? but i do know if u amp them it would, but really wasnt wanting to buy another amp for speakers, but just installing the pioneer made a huge difference already, but was just wondering if speakers would also help? i was looking at the boston acoustics 5x7 sx i believe, are they any good?
New Speakers would be a big help and make the new HU sound much, much better. You could start off by putting them in the fronts to see how that would sound---I have Pioneer in the fronts of mine and just kept the rears EOM---and it sounds great. I would say though, if you amp them, put four new ones in all around.

so what kind of rms watt speakers should i get? i think the unit is 22x4 rms, so would i look for something around that or go a lil higher if i wanna amp them in the future? would 50 rms be to much or is that pretty good?

I didn't want to spend a great deal of money, so somebody on the board suggested that I keep the OEM speakers in the back and put new speakers in the front---as mentioned previously, you get more bass out of the OEM ones, so my bass comes from the back---if you install four new ones, get a subwoofer and an amp, I would guess.
new speakers will help only if you get the proper speakers. Look for models that have a very high sensitivity in the 90db+ range. Also low powered speakers would respond better. You don't want 150w RMS speakers when you head unit only puts out 10w RMS.
them bostons 5x7 sc i think said 50 watts rms, is that ok, or should i get the s version which i believe is 35watts rms and they both have like 90 or 92 sensitivity so which ones yall think? im mainly wanting it for highs, i got 2 subs already

I just looked at the specs and the S85 looks pretty nice for around $60.
