2008 F150 3 Way Components

I've got a set of Boston Acoustics Pro Series 6.53 components that I have taken out of my 2000 BMW 3 series where they fit perfect. They are 3 way speakers. 6.5 inch midbass, 4 inch midrange, and tweeter.

My question is does anyone know if the midrange speaker will fit in the stock tweeter location in the door without too much modification?

No a 4" will not fit. My 2" tweeters barely fit when I had them there, and I had to dremel out the hole.

I would try putting the midbass in the doors, the midrange in the kicks, and the tweeters in the pillars or also in the kicks.

To add to this: even if you could fit the 4s there, I would never put them there. They are way off axis and the path length difference is huge. The midrange plays a huge portion of the audible music, you want them to be placed where you can get the best sound from them. The kick panels offer the best path length option and you can easily aim them closer to on axis. This will tremendously help the sound quality, especially if you are limited on EQ and are without time alignment.

If you are handy with fiberglass, making pods (to hold the midrange and tweeter) for the dash (at the base of the a-pillars) creates a killer soundstage in a truck or SUV.
