Exclamation What would happen

I have right now a kicker comp vr 10 inch sub and I was wandering what would happen if I bought a db drive platnium 10 inch sub and hooked them up together until I can afford the other db drive sub

kicker is 400 watts rms 800 peak

db 2ohm is 600 watts rms and 1200 peak

db 4ohm is 800 watts rms and 1600 peak

also when I get the two db subs will a 1000w amp be sufficient and has anyone heard of an amp named baja it is 1000w will it hold up to the two(don't criticize it I got it for like 20 bux)

nothing would happen, you might notice that the subs are producing differently.
Remember you DO NOT want to be able to notice where the bass is coming from, proper sub setup will produce ambient bass.
when powering subs you want to be around the top 75% of the rms rating, so 1k\2=500 watts to each sub.

Edit: When i say you want your amp rms to be around the top 75%+ of the sub rms rating that does not mean use 300 watt rms amp for 400 watt rms sub. Always use an amp that is rated above what you need to not stress the amp.

I seriously doubt your baja amp is putting out 1000w....id say more like the 300 range.

you don't want to share two subs of different makes in the same enclosure. They have different specs and perform just differently enough to make them work against each other canceling out their sound.

A lot of people don't even like to share air space at all even if the two subs of the same kind are used. I wish I could do that but we don't have the space in these trucks.

Your target with amp RMS power should be to exceed the speaker RMS rating. This is called headroom and lets your amp push the speaker to peak levels with out over heating itself to do it. Most speakers tend to sound better as you approach their max RMS levels.

yea I figured my amp was not that great and also I built the box to look like it was one but in actuality it has two separate sealed chambers inside and I guess I am really going to need to look into a better amp
