Best stock speaker replacements.

I'm thinking of changing out the crap-o stock door speakers. I have a stock HU, so that will factor into the equation of which speakers you guys recommend for me. I also have the 10" Saleen powered sub.

Recommend some speakers for me.

I added some polk db571's up front after getting my saleen sub & I am happy with them. I have not tried anything else and I still have the stock HU too. I am sure others will chime in but I will suggest the polk db571's for your setup that you have.

Don't fall into the infinity! Those sound tinny to me. Going to have to find something very efficient and 6.5", hmmm.

I've got to get ready for work but I'll do some research for ya. What price range are we looking at? Dollars can make a world of difference.

I've also picked up som db571's online, just running them off the HU though, thinking I might need to pick up a 4 channel amp to really appreciate these speakers. Any suggestions? and how hard of an install is it?

Considering my current system nothing that is going to break the bank.

Looked at the reviews about the polk db571's and they review fairly well and can be had for around $55 a pair or so online.

I'd have to hear the db571's. Spec wise they actually look pretty good compared to higher priced componets and for the price they are hard to pass on.

Alpine Type S are pretty good door replacements too. I actually prefer them over the Polks

But then again, I have infinity in my truck, so what do I know?

The Alpine SPS-507 is around the same price online as the polk db571's.

The Alpines review well too.

How much difference in sound quality between the above two (or any similar speaker for that matter) would I be able to tell considering my having a stock HU?

I personally havent heard those particular polks, but I dont think you'd here too much of a difference between the two. I dont know if you have anyone local that carries polk, but your local Best Buy will have the alpine s's on display so you can go down and listen to 'em. Where are you looking at online? Make sure its someplace that offers a good, full warranty.

I got a couple pairs of these to make the installation easier when I switched my speakers out.

I've installed a pair of Alpine Type S and a pair of Polk dBs in my brother's escape (Polks in back doors Alpines in front doors). The polks seem to be more efficient so with your limited HU power they would be optimal over the Alpines. However, I installed a 4 channel amplifier for him shortly after and the Alpines sing with more power.
