Sub BEHIND rear seat?

I'm looking at the Kenwood KSC-SW1. Mostly because of space requirements. I know that there's space for an amp to be mounted to the rear wall of the cab, behind the seat....

Is there room to mount this sub to the rear wall behind the rear seats? I have an '09 Supercab.

The dimensions of the sub are:

15 3/4" long
9 1/16" wide
3 11/16 thick

cheers -jamie

There is no way it will fit behind the seat. A 1.75" tall amplifier rubs the back of the seat when mounted on the rear wall. When you account the box thickness, sub, and excursion room it just cannot happen. Unless you get Xtrem.

Are the '09s the same back seat design as the '04-'08's?

It never gets old...

Well, I fit it behind the seat. No mods necessary, just a bit of grunting and pushing.

I don't have a motorized rear window, but I imagine that if I did that it would not have fit. There is a noise dampening lining on the rear wall that has a molded form in it for what looks like the mechanism for a motorized rear window. My supercab had nothing in this space however, so i mushed it a bit to get things to fit.

I fit it vertically in the very centre of the rear seat back area as far towards the bottom as it can sit..

it's got a grille. it's only pressing into the top portion of the bezel. i can fit my hand up behind the seat and feel the entire sub with clear air around it.

The grunting and pushing is mostly because the motorized window bulge in the sound deadening fabric kept pushing back at me.
