Question Fixing to buy my next SUB

Ok I am going to be using my pioneer amp for this sub .. a very light amp at only 100 watts rms bridged maybe 150 I cant remember
( Pioneer GM-X352) .. It is only stable at 4 ohms bridged so oh well... Now I was looking at the Phoenix Gold Ryval V10S , Clarion SW1051,and the PowerBass PS-10

I have not decided yet
I may also consider the Kicker 05C1044 ohms 10" Comp Series C104 C10

But I was told to stay away from the BOSS and EFX ( Scouche ) Subs // any idea ??

Well it's got to be sort of a hidden purchase , my wife will probably freak if she finds out I am getting yet another sub for my truck.. She is happy with factory radio;s and such since she listens to elvis, gospel and country music.. However I like bass , not alot but just enough.. Thats why when we built our projector theater room I went with a 7.1 pioneer surround system , bose and pioneer speaker and 2 -200 watt Yamaha powered subs... Anyhow I was probably going to try and spend about 50.00 buck or so .. I mean we are only talking about 100 watts .. I could bridge the coustic 241se amp again but something is wrong with the low pass crossover setting on the coustic amp .. the only other amp I have besides the coustic amp and the pioneer amp is the POS FF 150.2 which I believe is lightning audio ( given to me ) and right now that amp is hangin in the closet ... So I don't know.. Last time I bought a DVD HU from Best buy on sale my wife took it back the next day and kept mubbling something like it was my turn to buy the food.. Go figure.. well that being said I have been looking at the x-max and the rms wattage as well as the db's on the subs and the RYVAL's dont look to bad ???

Its always easier to ask forgiveness then it is permission...

You post a lot of questions, and heres what ive gathered. IMHO, i think its time to stop ****in around with cheap equipment and spend a little extra and get stuff that work right with eachother and last a decent amount of time.

Ok

This is where yeah I am thinking about good subs and all but if I went out and spent 200 on a sub the magnet structure would be way bigger than what I am willing to put under my seat .. also at between 100-240watts rms there are about 1000 different types of subs.. I guess the main reason I ask alot is to see what everyone else uses.. And then again I am 43 years old I should be listening to elevator music anyway right???
So we know Sony blew probable due to poor workmanship, I wouldn't on Alpine if someone gave it to me, the only auto sub that I even recognize that I liked when I was a Kid is Lanzar, but I was told they are crap.. My next door neighbor thinks I am crazy ...
Well based on what I have read , seen and heard I would say Pioneer sounds fairly good but the only one I can afford is the premier mess...I need to find a stereo place in mississippi that sales something besides Kicker and Alpine.. and the sad part is Best Buy is so overpriced.. Well off to look at more subs on the net.

For a little bass the RF Prime series is cheap (50$) and it fits under my seat. I only have .36 cf^3 so i am limited.

So you are saying you wouldnt run an alpine sub if someone gave it to you? But your considering lanzar, phoenix gold, clarion, and powerbass?

ok my temporary sub given to me by a friend... 10 inch pioneer .. I have 1 cubic ft box .. It says I can run a 3 inch port x6 inches long.. the box is under the seat so if I port it will be out the front making the sub firing down and the port ( 3inch pvc x 6 inches out the front , does this matter or does the port have to face down like the sub>???

Ok using the pioneer guide for a 1.0 cubic ft box and the port tuning calc for the recommended port length and size ( 3 inch Dia ) 6 inches Long the box will be tuned at about 48 hertz.. I wonder how funky a 3 inch port on the front side of my under the seat box is going to look??
