Box Research

So I bought (2) Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F subwoofers and a Kenwood Excelon XR-1S amp. Mounted the amp under the seat and mounted the subs to a box I bought off eBay.

The problem lied in the sub surface depth was greater than the clearance allowed by this box. I need like 1"-1.25" (front and back). The box above had less than 1" on the back side which was causing the subs to fire into the carpet below sounding like crap.

I'm looking for a box with black carpet for 2 10's. Any of you recommend a box for these subs? I need a sealed box around 0.6 SF/sub the mounting depth is one thing I don't have to worry about at 3.5".

I've read through the previous posts but I'm thinking that I must have bought the only subs with this requirement being so large.

Looks like a Fox Box is the only one worth taking a chance on buying over the net.

Why not just drill some rubber spacers to the bottom of the box to add clearance?

There was literally no space on the back side... as it was I could barely latch the seats down. The Fox box arrives tomorrow.

Well can't speak much to Fox Acoustics customer service. He messed up my order and never shipped it. It took me telling him that it hadn't shipped for him to realize it. Then when I asked if he would ship it 1-2 days because of his mistake he asked if I would like a refund. Boooooooooo.

try subthump.com I am running 2 jl10w1v2 and I could not be happier the speaker requires .625 and the box is rated at .64 a side. only one thing on the down side is that the terminals are the wedge in type. Even when I put them in with a rubber mallet the bass hits so hart that it blows them out. You will have to buy two terminals the type that screw into the box and boooommm its all good. I have an 08 f150 screw this week I am doing some little upgrades inside dyna matt and some other small stuff but my buddy owns a spectrum analyser I will post the spl's when we test it.

Got the Foxbox yesterday (2 week delivery)... nice product. Sounds great with the 2 Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F's and a Kenwood Excelon Kenwood Excelon XR-1S Amp.

PEACE.
