Problem

Alright, Yesterday i was driving to a buds house and my subs (12" Kickers) with a 1200wt crunch amp were working fine. So i turn off my truck and go and chill for a while. Well we leave 2 hours later and i turn my truck on and the amp is still on but my subwoofers dont work. I tried to unplug to the cables in the back and that doesnt fix anything.

Now im not sure what could have possibly happened. I checked the fuses and they are fine so im kinda at a lost. There was a bad storm with lightning strikes during that time but i dont think that could have done anything.

Im not hoping that somehow my subs got blown out but any information would be great.

Thanks

Heat soak killed the amp output stage? I've melted a bunch of stuff, and fuses were still in place. Can you temporarily hook up another sub, and eliminate that as the cause?

Ok so tonight i was driving and all of a sudden my subs come back on and i can hear them. Then about a mile later they turn off. So i think it might be one of the cords are loose. Im taking it into the shop tomorrow as i have a full warranty on everything.

What impedance do you have it wired to? Do you have the gains pegged? Amp could be going into protect mode.

ha...just a loose wire. If I had a nickle for everytime I heard that. First of all, crunch amp = garbage. Secondly, if your running it at two ohms, its probablly overheating and going into protect mode.

That is why it always pays to buy from an authorized dealer. No matter the brand.
