Talking Speaker Help

I am going to put a some new speakers in my f150 extended cab. Many questions come to mind. 1. What size of speakers does my truck hold? 6 x 8 is what I hear on the message boards, but does it hold other sizes also, i.e. 6 inch in the front also? 2. What speakers sound the best for what the amount of money I wanna spend and sound the way I want it to sound. I wanna spend no more than 250 dollars, and I really am not going for that deep bass, (I've had that before), just something that sounds crisp and clean. I heard Polk is good. Any and all help is appreciated Thanks.

6x8 is the factory speaker size all around.

If you feel constructive you can get 5.25's and make a mounting plate for them, and if your work just a little bit harder you can get 6.5's to fit with the proper monting plate.

Now as for what speakers, I'd recomend you make a mounting plate and get either 5.25 or 6.5 components for the front speakers. Having that tweeter out from behind the door panel makes a world of difference in the sound quality. As for what brand to get, listen to as many different speakers as possible and choose what you like, cuz your the one thats gonna here them the most.

black 97' x-cab 4x4, 5 speed 4.6, black westin nerf bars, pilot ground searchers, borla SS split rear exhaust, K&N genII, bosch +4 plugs, superchip, flexalite electric fan, v-tech oval side window covers, IAS shocks

premier 720, pioneer 6cd changer, 12 premier sub, premier componets, 2 soso amps

still to come: new spark plug wires, new rims and tires, maybe a supercharger eventually.
