06 F-350 Supercrew - 4 - 10's or 4 - 12's......thoughts???
Hi All,
I'd like to first off say sorry for being so wordy. I recently sold my 2005 F-150 that had 2 - 10's under the seat and sounded "OK", but I just picked up a 2006 F-350 Supercrew and am looking into putting something REALLY LOUD in the truck.
I've seen boxes that have triple shallow 10's or triple shallow 12's, but after doing some measuring and being pretty savvy in the woodshop I believe I can pull off 4 subs behind the rear seat. I have found I can get about .5cf per sub and Pioneer Premier makes both 10" and 12" shallow subs which I would like to use.(unless someone can make another suggestion)
I'd like to squeeze the 12's(.5~1.0cf) in there for the most woofer area but fear they are going to be in too small of an enclosure, verses the 10's have less requirements(.35~.7cf).

This may sound like a no brainer to go with the 10's but I want something LOUD and hit low and don't know if the 10's will be capable.
Anyone have any experience with this???
Thanks in advance.
Andy

I just put in 1 pioneer shallow 10 yesterday for a buddy with a regular cab truck. I was really really surprised at how well it hit. Nothing earth shattering, but for 400w and a small budget he made me turn it down, too much for this older guy. Not going to win any competitions but i would imagine 4 would sound great. If you want to get a bit lower, see if you can fit the 12s. This is the one I put in: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...low/TS-SW1041D

I would if I didn't have people to tote around all the time. I use the bed too, so the "blow-thru" design is out the door too. Plus I'd hate to tear up a $55,000 truck.

I'm wanting to do 4 of either not a 2 or 3, so looks like I'd have to go with the RF P3 10's due to the 12's require a minimum of .70 and I'll only have .50 to work with.....unless I fill the box with poly-fill but I doubt it will make that difference up.

Here's a good article on polyfill that might help you

Thanks!!!.....looks like the fill "could" make up for the space.

....that came to mind too. Definitely would be different, but don't know if the volume would be there.
Kicker Solobaric L7's was what I was looking at...but for an SPL vented enclosure it'd take 1 cubic foot per sub to do that.
.....Now I don't know what to do.....better go drink some cold ones to figure it out.

you get 3 soundsplinter rl-i 8s ported and it will kill any pioneer or RF

you can fit full size 10"s behind the seat in a 06 superduty screw. but you will have to move the seat up and forward just a bit so the surrounds of the speakers dont hit the seat and make the rear of the box out of fiberglass contour molded to the rear of the cab. i have 3 10"s wired at 1 ohm behind the seat in my 06 f250 screw and they get pretty loud and low on 2000w rms.

I have the Rockford Foosgate 12'' shallow mount subs under my backseat. I only have 2 of them but they sound pretty good. Pretty loud too. Idk if you can fit 4 subs and they still sound good. You may not have enough box room and enough air space for them to hit properly.
