02 Extended cab

Description says you cant fold down seat but so far i can. Its not mounted to the seat bracket its just sitting on the floor so I dont know if it will make a difference once mounted.

Pics and maybe a vid this weekend. I won’t have time to hook it up until then. Besides I’m waiting on my buddy to get me the amp he has been promising me. Its free so I can’t complain... too much

Unfortunately the box is Tan and the interior of my truck is grey. I was thinking about painting it to match but not sure if it would be a good idea. Not that it really matters as it’s only me in the truck 95% of the time so no one is going to see it.

Given the type of material the formed box is made of (high density polyethylene resin) My questions are:
1. Can/Should I paint it to match interior?
2. What would be the prep procedure for painting the box (Sanding, priming, etc)?
3. Will the paint peel or chip?

I will take the time to do it the correct way if I can guarantee it won’t peel. I don’t want to have to do it multiple times and I don’t want some ugly *** Tan and Grey box 6 - 12 months down the road because my kids keep kicking it in the same spot.

some of that krylon paint for plastics would probally work on it. i used some to paint the rear fenders on my rhino about 6 months ago and it hasnt came off yet and it gets full of mud and water with trees scrapping it and then pressure washed with a 4000psi washer and still looks good after cleaned up so itf it sticks to them it should stick to a plastic box inside a truck where it doesnt see any wear on it.

DANG! My friend says he cant find the amp so now i have it hooked up to a soundstream that really isnt rated for pushing subs. not sounding great ATM.

Now Im out shopping for a new or used amp. I have a few questions I could sure use to get cleared up in my head.

According to Specs of the box/sub combo box, there are 2 8ohm 150W speakers wired in parrallel. Ok, I havnet used Ohms law in a long time but that makes the speakers input Imped 4 ohms ... right?

here is a copy of the sub specs from MTX.com

Model Description | Imped. |Frequency | Response Power | Handling | (RMS/Total) Sensitivity Voice Coil Magnet | Weight Mounting | Depth
T688 8" Subwoofer | 8 Ohm | 32Hz-150Hz | 150/300 | 86.1dB 1 1/2" | 28oz. | 3 11/16"

So give that information what size amp do I need to push these babies?

150RMS/300Peak
or do I need more something more like 300RMS/600Peak

Im no expert by any strech when it come to this stuff so feel free to laugh, point fingers and then put me down the right track.

Thanks
Brian

Yes, it is in a 4 OHM configuration. You need a amp that will push around 300 Watts RMS, i suggest a class D amp. Check out sonic electronics.
