New to Speakers and Want to change mine...
I don't know much about Speakers or any of that stuff I just know that they improve the sound of your music... I recently went to Georgia and my nephew has an 01 S-10 Extended Cab and he swapped out all the Speakers on the inside the two front door ones and the two in the rear he also swapped out the head unit and I really like how it sounds... for now I just want to swap out all the speakers on my doors of the Expedition so It'll be 4 speakers in total
Today I went to an Audio store by my house and I told them I didn't want to spend more then $100 on speakers and they said they could sell me 4 Sony XS-V4642A for $75 and they could install them for $50 the max power of the speakers is 140W I don't know if that means anything...
I was wondering if that was a good deal or do you guys suggest something else that would be more bang for the buck, I think the speakers in the expedition are 4x6"
right now I don't have any audio upgrades I only have the stock setup which is the stock Head unit with 6 cd and the subwoofer
any help would be appreciated

Sony speakers SUCK! dont do that. if you are only willing to spend 100 on your speaker system then i would say leave it stock. but if you just replace the front speakers and spend 100 on that then you may come out with decent sound, especially if you install it yourself (its not as hard as you think). you could buy some phoenix gold rsd's and that will run you about $45 after shipping

Actually you could buy 2 sets of these and still be under. you can goto crutchfield.com and you can buy a "mastersheet" that shows EXACTLY how to install the speakers for about 10 dollars. i hope this helps good luck

I have a different opinion on that. The paper speakers in my truck make me want to tear them out and burn them. any thing would sound better than my factory speakers. At the very least they have better clarity. when my speakers in my truck get into some bass, they become quieter and takes away from treble. its quite annoying.
In my last car (07 roush mustang) i replaced the front speakers with Polk Db series and they sounded WAY clearer and the bass didn't distort as much.
I guarantee you will notice a big improvement over the stock speakers. IMO

well like i said in my first post, Phoenix Gold RSd's are good speakers (from what i hear) they should be a decent upgrade from stock. if you want to have a considerable upgrade from stock (like your brother) then i would get a simple head unit from alpine or pioneer. you can pick up a pretty nice alpine off ebay for $100, i think its the alpine cda-9856 that i used to have sells for about $100 and sounds really good for the price. you may have to go used, but on a head unit like that, they will last many many years.
