Audiophile Subwoofer?

I have a 2008 F-150 King Ranch, SuperCrew, with the Audiophile sound system w/navigation head unit. I have read on here that there is supposed to be a subwoofer speaker underneath the driver's side rear seat. I looked the other day and didn't see one there at all. Did Ford change locations or anything?

Nope, you either don't have the audiophile, or someone stole your subwoofer. There's no hiding this thing. I made the same mistake. You probably have the "Premium" unit, which is different from the audiophile. Pull your speaker grilles off the front door and if you don't have tweeters in the holes at the top, you don't have the audiophile system.

I thought that maybe I was mistaken as to having the audiophile so I checked my window sticker for the truck. Says audiophile on it so I guess someone removed the speaker. Wonderful! Now I have to deal with the dealership again!

That sucks. It is supposed to be under the rear seat.

The removed more than the speaker, the unit has the power unit for the sub too, along with a big black box the width of the 60% seat. If they don't make it good, and they might not if it was a while back that you bought the truck. I have a factory subwoofer from a 2008 I bought on ebay. Unfortunately, I don't even have the plug in the rear of my truck so I couldn't use it, and I went aftermarket. PM me for details, if interested. Been too busy to put it back on ebay.

Thanks all. I'm waiting a call back from the dealership's manager to discuss further.

No offense, but that system must really sound bad without the subwoofer, because Ford takes a lot of bass out of the doors with those units. Did it sound different at one time and then not. Someone else could have lifted it while you had it.

Well I got this resolved after discussing with the sales manager this morning. The dealership had provided me a printout of the vehicle spec sticker (which is what I read, as noted above) and apparently the one they printed out was not for my truck. I did find the actual sticker for my truck buried in all of my paperwork and it does not show the Audiophile option, just the Navigation Radio.

So, I guess to my relief, nothing was taken or not provided with my truck when I bought it. Thankfully it all worked out.

If you want a subwoofer, you should go aftermarket anyways.
