blown speaker... head unit issue?
blown speaker... head unit issue?
so a while back i bought 2 pairs of the $30.00 2 way fosgates if anyone remembers those.
well today i smelled something burnt, the rear driver side speaker took a dive. went down to custom sounds and they confirmed it. no biggie.. get new speakers right? well i did. got some MTX 3 ways MT573 model.
decided to move the front speakers to the rear door and put the 3ways in the front doors. simple right?
well after putting a speaker that i knew worked where the blown one was i turned on the radio to get that oh crap turn it off now sound. i disconnected it. went to the drivers side and the rear one that worked earlier was only getting a very low faint signal. the door speaker worked fine.
the deck i have is at least a good 6 years old maybe 7 so im leaning towards that. has anyone else run into this issue or similar and if so what did you do to fix it?
