Single 10" System for $600 or less?
I am looking for a system that has good sound quality I mainly listen to metal, a little rap and may bump a little Hank Jr. once and a while. I have been looking at shallow mount subs but I dont know a thing about car audio never had a system b4. Can any of you Gurus point me in the right direction for a nice sounding inexpensive single 10" system (box, sub, and amp) this will be goin in a 07 screw replacing the factory sub. Thanks.

Personally i have never had any experience with it so i cant vouch for how it sounds... I like mtx and been mostly satisfied with the equipment i have installed. With the amp its almost 400, then you will just need wires and you can tap onto the factory HU's sub output wires since you have the audiophile system.
Can anyone vouch for that MTX setup?
Another thing you could try would be just a single 10" enclosure with a JL 10w1v2 and a small amp of any kind really. Just search around and hopefully more feedback will come though here.
Also, check out some local audio shops near you and talk with them, even listen to some stuff to get more of an idea of what you are looking for.

I went with one of the prefab boxes on Ebay and am very happy with it.
1. Prefab box w/ black carpet and JL10w1 included already mounted - $200
2. Kicker 400x1 Amp - $90
3. Wiring - $50
I did the install myself, but did it all for under $350 and it sounds great. I've also replaced all the stock speakers with Fosgate components and have the JVC KW-NX7000 double din Nav unit in there as well.
I've had competition level stereos and didn't want anything like that this time. This setup sounds great and has plenty of noise for my taste.

I have a 10" Image dynamics sub ID10D4v.3, supercrewsound.com single 10 box w/ added depth and grey carpet, and a rockford fosgate P325.1 amp for sale. PM me for price and pics if interested. I'm also selling a set of the Memphis 5X7's. I'm selling b/c I sold the truck.
