JL Stealthbox, prefab or custom made....that is the question!

I've been look at prefab boxes for like 3 weeks now....I even went to Atrend because the factory is right by me. They all seem the same, and I'm worried about the subs hitting the floor at high excursion. So I've pretty much ruled out prefabbed. So the shop that is going to put everything in said they'd make me one for $200-$300 + subs, probably JL 10W1s at about $110 a piece which would put me at $500-sh give or take. OR....I can get the Stealth Box from JL for a REALLY good price or $625.

....I'm thinking about biting the bullet and just getting the Stealth Box because its not much more and its a sure thing.

I don't have access to table saws and nail guns, and I'm not about to buy that stuff for basically a one time use. What would you do?

other members here have the stealth box and swear by it,,, the w1 is entry level, may not suit ur needs, there are a fews pre fabs that are fine.

I went with an Ebay prefab box with one JL10w1 and love it. I'm not needing anything crazy as far as bass goes and just wanted something better than the stock sub and something that I could feel a bit when it hit. Suits me perfectly.

And it is downfiring and does not come anywhere near the floor of the truck. No worries there.

I've heard JL stealthboxes in multiple applications, and each one has impressed me. I believe the "hype" that JL actually spends time trying to get the best and most sound out of each stealthbox. That is why I would go with a stealthbox before just a normal prefab.

JL Stealthbox with 1 10w3v3 will amaze you. I did me. It threw my ideas of cram and jam...right out the window... The box to this day amazes me.

I bought an Alpine PDX-5 to do the whole system. The birth/test sheet that came with it said it put out 124x4 and 417x1, so it should realistically se 400-ish watts. The place I bought it from said that it will sound great with 300-500 watts, so I should be good to go!

Not to be a smart **** but there is a classified section on this board for selling things. I believe this is the third time you have posted this item on the regular forums and you will have much more success selling it if you post it up over there. Second, your stealthbox will not work in the new body style F150's only in the 2004 heritage and earlier models.
