If you really want to get spendy then JL makes a good slim sub to but they are not cheap.

What is your goal for the sub? Are you going to be looking for more sq then spl or are you wanting a balance of both, or are you wanting flat out blow your doors off spl? Are you wanting to keep it under the seats, how comfortable are you with fabrication? A little more info will really help aid us towards your goal.

But at the end of the day your going to be listening to it so ultimately make sure your happy with your decision.

uhm well under the rear seat. i have a down firing, single 12" box but dont know if i should switch to up firing. and im using a slim 1300 watt, 12" sony xplode...i dont know what u mean by sq or spl. not familiar with those terms. but i want to stay in a price range of bout $220 for both subs. i dont want to do no fabrication, just want to order a box for 2-10"s or 2-12"s. i know the sony i got has an rms of i think 350. so i wannt be in the 500 range if anything. i want to be heard...lol

SQ = Sound Quality
SPL = Sound Pressure Level (bass head guys)
SQL = A combo of both (bass head guys who want some sound quality JL10w7 type subs)

I would really honestly think you would be really happy with a 10" dayton HO reference series sub.They have two different subs one is HO and one HF both will work but the HO is made for a smaller enclosure and can handle close to 600 rms. They will put you at about $250 but they are pretty dang accurate and will get load work well in small enclosures. There are several other good subs as well like the Image Dynamics ID10, JL 10w0, 10w3 will fit under the seat and not have to modify.

As for box firing up vs down I believe that to be a personal preference issue. I really like down firing boxes but if you think a up firing box is what you want then give it a shot.

ok, i see alot of people talk bout kickers and mtx subs, are they any good? and i also seen an enclosure on best buy, that hold 2 10"s. i believe its a down firing box made by atrend. it looks like a good enclosure. what do you think?

I am not a big fan of kicker or mtx subs but there are a lot of people that do have them and have great sounding systems. IMO every sub has the ability to sound decent it is all in the level of install. If you do the small things right you will have a good sounding system regardless of product choice. I have herd people with junky everything blow the doors off an all JL system it just depends on the level of install. I personally say if you like that box at best buy get it, just make sure all the corners are sealed good I always run a bead of caulking in my sealed enclosures whether I purchase or make them. Then just make sure that which ever subs you buy will be able to operate in the available airspace that your box provides. That is way more important then just buying a name.

i agree with you on puting a bead of chaulking on the inside corners. i always do that with my sealed enclosures. but il prob give that enclosure a shot and try to find a good sub that can operate with that air space i guess....

ya I do to that was the tricky part, but I managed to retain the whole use of the console and it still looks factory (a ton of work and I drove my truck with a gutted interior for about a month). But in all seriousness you will be happy with the gear you pick. I am sure that box won't be bad at all. Good luck and post pics when your done.
