new sub setup???? help!!
hey guys ..i got an 08 limited screw... i have a single 12" shallow sony sub, 1300 watts in a custom box underneath the rear driverseat, down firing. i definately want to add another sub.right now im powering that sub with the new amp out by sony, the smallest one that sends out like 900 watts max, 2 channel. im debating on if i should stick with 2-12"s or go down to 2-10"s? upfiring box or downfiring box? dont know what to do. i seen a custom box on ebay to fit 2-12"s for like $112. i think thats not bad for a custom box to fit my truck but its up firing. should i stick with the shallow sony subs or try a diff sub thats shallow? they hit pretty nice but i know with a bigger amp, which i got, would hit even better... CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE, thanks, anthony
Oh where to begin. Most ebay boxes suck. You don't HAVE to use shallow subs, you have a lot of options under the seat. Peak power doesn't mean ****, rms is what matters. Sony makes crap everything pretty much. There's not too much difference between upfiring and downfiring, either way the sound is going to hit a surface. (Floor or seat, duh) You need to do some more research my friend. Using the search button on this site alone would give you access to Tons of knowledge, not to mention the volumes of info that can be found through a GOOGLE search.
im thinkin bout going with an up firing just because the seat would be a softer surface then the floor cuz when i turn the bass up, it sounds like the sub is to close to the floor and you can hear it making like a vibrating noise and throwing the sub off que an all...does anyone have any good comments on an upfiring???????
