Nice! is that a 10? and whats the mounting depth?

yetti96 04-02-2009 10:25 PM

I hope you aren't going to play it with the seat down.

Congrats. Glad you could do it. (You are the second on this forum)

But I recommend not being showboatish like it sounds. Its a very good way to get 0 help.

How does it sound did you put any poly fill inside? Did you calculate the volume of air that sub would need when making the box or did you just make the box to fit under seats. Looks good though for first time.

I would not have done it because :

1 - it is a kicker sub
2 - it is a square kicker sub
3 - the mounting depth is going to cause problems with the surround on the sub during high excursion times.
4 - riding around with the seat up is lame !
5 - first time you park somewhere and forget to put the seat down, someone is going to relieve you of it.
6 - What about if someone ever rides back there and sits above it....not good.

Sorry..... IMO waste of money. It pays to do some research before you pull the trigger and spend 400 bucks. If you want kudos for cramming that under there... you are not going to get it from me.

i didnt put any poly in it.. but i did calculate the volume of air (i cant remember what it was) but there was enuff the sub needed .66 CU.ft and i had .77 CU.ft

LOLOL.

Seriously, its cool that you got it to fit man congrats.

But the positives really end there. You might fascinate a few dumbfounded people at the local high school but thats about it.

1. He said its a kicker sub. You said is not true. so your saying its not a kicker sub?
2. He said its a square kicker sub. You said its not true. So your saying its not a square kicker sub?
3. Not having sufficent space between the magnet and the bottom of the box will cause rips and tears in the surround over time, especially if you crank it a lot.
4. Yes, it is lame.
5. Yes, it will happen. I probablly have 4 or 5 kids a week come in and say that something or other got jacked out of their car, wether it be their face plate or whoel radio or their amp and subs or the sleeves off their sweet metal mullisha jersey...
6. How do you know the sub isnt hitting the seat? Just because you cant feel it doenst mean that its not happening.

So in short, you fail. Epically. Congrats for making it fit under there. Doesnt change the fact that you have a serious attitude problem and pretty much suck at life.
