best sub for this setup??

i just took out all of my audio equipment and returned to stock. i'm looking at gettin one 10" that goes under my seat.

i want something that will hit, i'm conidering the alpine mrp-m500 for an amp. I will most likely end up with this amp, if anyone has any suggestions for a better amp in this price range, i'd gladly reconsider!

i'm running off of my stock head unit now.

i want clear sound, but i want people next to me to know that i have subs

any suggestions would be glady appreciated!

i think i have my selections narrowed down to this:

http://www.woofersetc.com/p3878/PWE2...-Subwoofer.htm

or this:

http://www.woofersetc.com/p2126/15M3...-Subwoofer.htm

p.s.- i have an '08 supercab

That MRP500 won't run that MBQ sub, you need something with dual 4ohm voicecoils or a single 2...

The sound you want will only be found with a well designed ported enclosure. So work on getting that more than what kind of sub you are buying

That stealthbox is nice...but pricey~ $700+ for one ten and a box that's alot!

RJ...how are you going to fit a full size 10" under that seat??? The JL Steath did it because its molded fiberglass enclosure with minimal thickness; but how are you doing with MDF???

haha, i don't know. will i need a shallow mount?

and yeah, stealthbox is way out of my price range.

will a shallow mount still hit as hard/sound as clear.

i don't need punding bass, just something that hits and sounds clear.

i just had 2 kicker L5's and that was too much for me.

I think we all have the same issues... but I going with the shallows~ gotta' work with what I HAVE not what I WISH. I narrowed it down to 3 choices, the Kenwwood, MTX, and Pioneer and really I have no idea which would be best. I'm searching for any positive results from online reviews...but I'm not certain how much credence they hold.

THe box I have seen here holds 1.03fT3 internal VOL., my thought is to use it sealed, add polyfill material, and run (2) tens. BUT which???

I have this box in CAD http://https://www.f150online.com/fo...home-made.html

the largest top firing sub can not be wider than 10" or deeper than 5"; at that angle the sub bottoms the box at 5". SO that does give a little more options. IF you want the box plans in pdf email me at Lthrnek89@yahoo.com

have you considered the memphis or polk audio or rockford fosgates shallow mounts?

if not, is there a reason?

i've used pioneers, mtx, and kenwood, and have heard much better things about the other 3 previously listed brands.

im only running one 10, but with the help of my friend i think i found my setup.

This box:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218009781462

This sub:
http://www.woofersetc.com/p7058/15SC...-Subwoofer.htm

and this amp:
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_id=6249

that's 300w RMS on each with a 4 ohm load. that should work, correct?

so, does anyone have an opinion on whether or not this will sound good? not just tell me what they're buying and post random things that have nothing to do with the question? lol.

I ran into the same issue with my Harley. No room and I did not want to remove the rear console. After searching high and low, I only saw the JL enclosure that was waaaay too pricey. I got an installer from a local shop (who does work on the side) to build me a fiberglass enclosure that fit between the front and rear console. I put one 10 inch Kicker L7 and it sounded good as he//. Found out that in a truck cab, downfiring the sub will greatly improve the bass response. I'd say go to some local shops and get some ideas from the installers. Each will have a different idea, which will give you more to go on. Good luck!

I am going to go with the 3 JL 8W6's I have left over from the 90's. Three of these should give me just short of what a 15 would do and more than what the same 12 would do. They are older speakers but they work fantastic, will fit in the box under the seat and I can wire them any number of ways to get the right impedance/Load/ohms...
